5-MIN HEALTHY QUICK CHEESE SNACK RECIPES

Do you remember the gnawing hunger pain but the thought of cooking something is just too much effort and you end up opting for biscuits? Everyone has experienced it before. You open the fridge hoping for inspiration, see a few vegetables, some bread and maybe yesterday’s roti, and then close the door again. Don’t. A few ordinary ingredients can turn into a pretty decent snack, especially when there’s cheese involved.

1. Make A Proper Cheese Toast

Take one piece of bread and apply some butter on it. Add a layer of amul cheese slice on it followed by the vegetables you may have. Onions, tomatoes and capsicum form a few of the ingredients which pair well in this recipe, and if you like, sweet corn kernels can go into it as well. To further bring up the taste of the dish, black pepper, chilli powder need to be added just before baking it on the skillet. Wait for half a minute before you bite into it. Otherwise, you’ll do what everyone does: burn the roof of your mouth because you couldn’t wait.

2. Give Yesterday’s Roti A Job

Leftover rotis don’t have to become fridge decoration. Warm one on a pan and spread a layer of green chutney or tomato sauce on top of that. Add some chopped vegetables or mashed potatoes and torn pieces of cheese on top of the filling. Now roll all these ingredients up nicely and toast the rolled filling for a minute. You can cut it into pieces, but eating the whole roll in one go is also fine.

3. Make The Sandwich You Actually Want

Naturally, besides your two slices of bread for a cheese sandwich, you can also use tomatoes, onions, carrots, sweet corn, and any other ingredients of your choice to make this sandwich more tasty. The oregano will give it an intensely fresh taste, and a bit of chilli will make it extra spicy. Toast it in a pan until golden and crisp. If you’re buying groceries online, keep a few extras around because these are the ingredients you’ll reach for again and again.

4. Turn Crackers Into Something Better

Assuming you have some crackers and do not want to eat them as they are, place some bits of cheese on top of the crackers, followed by slices of cucumbers or tomatoes. Olives, corn, or some chutney with the help of a spoon can be placed on top of them as well, and to finish off, just sprinkle some pepper or chilli flakes. It will take you no time at all!

5. Fry Some Cheesy Vegetable Bites

Dice the carrots, onions, capsicum, and corn. Put it all together with the gram flour, adding some salt and other spices of your choice. Then add the cheese and make balls out of it. Fry the balls in oil till their outer shell becomes crisp. The balls should be made small enough so that they can cook evenly. Serve them with mint chutney or ketchup and eat them hot. They’re particularly good when you’ve got a few vegetables that have been sitting around looking slightly forgotten.

Keep A Few Things In The Fridge

Sometimes the easiest snacks use the items available at home. Bread, rotis, crackers, vegetables, and cheese have infinite possibilities of combinations. If you’re ordering the ingredients, add the ones you tend to run out of first instead of trying to plan every snack for the week.

Don’t Follow A Recipe Too Seriously

These are guidelines, not set in stone. Paneer is optional if available; feel free to swap the vegetables or increase the spice to suit your taste. That doesn’t mean you should throw something away just because it isn’t part of the recipe. Instamart will help to replenish the groceries depending upon the availability of products.

And when the next hunger attack happens, you’ll know what to do. Grab the bread, open the fridge and get cooking. Keep an Amul cheese slice pack handy, and you’re already halfway there.
